Hello all. I have a 96 challenger with the 787. I took it out the other week and it ran awesome. After returning home I did the standard was and dry that includes rinsing out the bilge. I noticed a little oil on the water at that time. Checked the oil tank and lines as far as I could get my hands down on them without crawling in. Nothing leaking on those. Thought no big deal. Let boat sit for three days and looked in the bilge again. Fresh oil is pooling up in the bilge. As each day goes by there is a little more oil. Since this is happening while the boat is not running, is this just a leaky line or a connection close to the motor? Could there be something major, like a bad injector pump or cracked engine, etc.. Thanks for any help guys

What I would do is look at the injector tank and see if the seam is the leak problem. On my 1997 Challenger the grommet under the tank that led to the injector pump and the Rotary Gear Shaft lube hose was dripping just a little and making my spotless hull oily. I replaced the grommet cleaned it up and it's spotless again. Follow all the oil lines first as this is probably the problem. let us know what you find and we'll help you get it corrected.

Thanks for the info. Turned out to be a cracked line were the line fits on the oil pump assy. I had to pull the pipe to get to it but it is fixed now. Pipe back on and bilge ready to eat off of.. Well not really. But it is very clean again. I have another problem based on this one though. It appears the line, it is clear, is not filling up with oil. I started the boat for just a few seconds and did not see any oil coming down the hose so I shut it off asap. I have a full hose above the in-line filter but nothing past that. Is there a way to bleed this? I am not taking it out until I see oil come down the tube. Thanks !!

I found a shop manual that talks about this in pretty good detail and gives a great shot of the injector pump. There is a bleed screw on the pump to do this very thing. Thanks!
