floor storage cover door latch

My floor storage compartment latch, 204070120, has decayed. Can find online for $50-60. A bit pricey. Am thinking of gluing disc with finger hole over latch opening. Anyone have better idea to save $60?

Yes, that looks like it. Just purchased white "slam latch" on eBay.
