Fix bent impeller tip

Looking for some advice for bending the tip of a stainless steel impeller. I have my pump out for an oil change and notice one of the impeller tips was flatened out a bit compared to the other 2 tips. If you look at the picture and use the line where the wear ring meets the pump body for reference, you can see the impeller tip at the top of the picture has more space to the wear ring line than the lower impeller tip ìn the picture. I can also feel that area is like a flat triangle compared to the other tips.
I think the bent tip should be heated up and either put against a flat metal surface and banged back into position with a hammer or possibly just grabbed with a pliers and bent back up a bit. I'm asking if someone did this type of repair and what they did to avoid damaging the impeller. Thanks.

I've taken them and placed the bent blade on my 3/8" metal table and rapped them with a hammer to reshape it. Not much beating just a few raps brought it back in shape nicely. I've ground the leading edges with my die grinder to smooth out some dings but you have to be careful as you don't want to remove too much weight and throw it out of balance. It's spinning at 7K RPM. I doubt you'll notice any performance issues with the bent blade but replacement impellers are pretty cheap. Might be better off just finding a good replacement.

You'll likely have different opinions. Leaving it alone is an option as well. :D Good Luck !!
