Try Walmart or West Marine. You usually get what you pay for. I have a Garman Full color GPS bottom sounder/fishfinder in my 26' Chris Craft... It's dead on with full bottom readings...because I'm a scuba diver and need dead on accuracy. You could spend about $100-$200 and get something that shoud work ok. I spent $1800.00

Will I be able to install the fish finder myself? I don't want to drill holes in the bottom of the boat to attach it.

you can get through hull ones that you glue on inside the boat, otherwise its a matter of two small holes in the back of the boat. I have a $300 humminbird unit that works well.

The through hull models won't pick up very well. The best easiest one to go with is one with a transducer that gets mounted on the transom of the boat. You need to drill a hole to run the cable and 2 screws that mount the transducer in place on the transom. Also the bracket needs to be mounted on the dash somewhere for the head unit. The whole install time is about 1 hour.
