Took my 08 Challenger 180 SE out to New Melones Lake last Saturday and had a blast! Used the winter months to get the rear 2 Hydro-Turf for step and swim platform installed and the wife loved it.

The trip was a shake down for our big outing to Lake Haveasu at the end of May and into June. We wanted to make sure everything was running right and to get a little practice on launch and retrieve. This is my first jet drive and last year at Bass Lake I struggled to maneuver the boat in to and out of the dock area. Glad I had my laptop for that trip because most of my issues were solved by scouring the forum for slow speed maneuvering. This time at New Melones I had no issues and felt confident I could maneuver my boat with ease. This forum is great and has helped me understand, learn and improve my skill and knowledge.

I couldn't ask for a more picture perfect day, sunny ski with mild temps in the low -mid 70's very few people out on the lake and decent water levels. All in all a great day to shake out the cob webs and remember why I love boating.

Just had to share and to say thanks for all who participate and freely share their experiences and knowledge.

Have a great summer boating!

Ted
