Well it made its maiden voyage and successfully got back to the dock. New seats are all in and they are awesome.

I was a little embarrassed within the first couple of minutes, I thought I turned the gas on when I dropped it in but I didn't and we actually did some trouble shooting on the water before looking at the gas shut off.

That is the good news...the bad news is that we were cruising along at 40 ish and I slowed down to try out the tube but when i went to start up again the boat just fell on its face. it wouldn't rev up past 4k and it wouldn't go any faster than 10 mph. when we looked in the engine bay it was filled with smoke...I started the engine back up and there it was staring at us in the face (plus it was loud) the rubber hose between the exhaust and water box was blown to bits and was choking out the engines. we limped back to the dock with both running because I didn't have anything to pinch off the water hose so i could run on one engine. when i took the hose off to go and get a new one I found that the previous owner had rigged the hose instead of fixing it and it was a matter of time before it broke, I am surprised it didn't fail while in the driveway.

I am going to head to napa today to get a heavy duty piece of hose and get enough to store on the boat as spares. There was also a small cooling hose that was leaking so i am going to replace all of those as well.

Do you guys just use radiator hose when these break?

When it was running the boat was real fast, the bay was choppy so it gets tossed around a bit but it got up on plane instantly and seemed like it was real nimble. This is my first jet boat so I was surprised how quick it got up on plane.

I re-upholstered the seats with a kit I bought of Keith (seadoouphostery.com) I decided that if i ever have to do the seats again I will put carriage bolts in the plates and jb weld them in place before using pop rivets, I really hate pop rivets and only threw the rivet gun 2 times during the whole process.

Definitely need a GPS, when in the bay it is way too easy to get lost.
