First time wear ring removal

OK this is the first time I've tried removing the wear ring. I want to know if I need to cut through the black layer and the white behind it? I take it yes.

The white one doesn't have any adhesives does it

None of the 2 strokes use adhesive. Some use small screws.
What ski do you have?

OK it my impeller doesn't touch my new wear ring is my impeller already ground down to much? Bought the PWC this year. Has a solas concord on it.

I was looking at the 10/17 impeller from the impeller store for $120. Will this be OK since the 2002 gti has a 10/16?

No. Stay away from the one size fits all impeller store.

Where did you buy your wear ring?

It's a wsm wear ring

There is a chance it is the aftermarket wearing. I have not used the WSM ones but there are some on the market that just don’t fit correctly.

I only recommend OEM ones personally.

It is the same as what was in it. It has a rubberized outside to it. It seemed to fit really good. I just think the gap between the impeller is to much. The impeller looks to me like the ends may have been ground
