Well I have to say the first trip out was a success! kinda.....
Took the boat to Lake Carlyle in IL , woo let me tell you my little 18ft challenger does not like choppy water. but near the shore this thing is a blast!!!! at WOT this boat runs like a champ, it's hard to believe it is 12 years old, starts up with barely pressing the start button. Noticed some cavitation in the port engine, this is also the engine that is missing it's drive shaft protector, so I'm sure it had a run in with a foreign object some time in its lifetime.
So the items that make it a "kinda" success....the cover that zips over the bimini when stowed was not secured and went missing....noticed on the way back to shore
and when docking the boat, the wife knocked the pier and sheered the rear most gripper cleat right off, no fiberglass damage. I guess when it's steel vs. aluminum, steel wins. :ack: I think she was more upset than me though, it was our first time out and can't expect it to be perfect, no body damage and new cleat is cheap!
