Well I finally got some time to put the XP resto in the lake and break her in and everything was going well until I got out of the no wake zone and decided to check under the seat to my surprise I had a large amount of water in the hull so back to the dock. I pulled the ski out on the ramp on an angle and tried to see we're all the water was draining out and they exhaust through hull seemed to be the culprit. So back to shop I went me and a buddy stood the ski up and filled it with a decent amount of water in the back to see if we could narrow down the leak a small amount of water was weeping out around the through hull exhaust and also around the pump were the bailer tubes mate flush with the hull I guess I f'ed up and didn't put enough rv on so I pulled the bolts on the through hull and re siliconed the fitting and holes and put back together.the fitting looks like this

Ok so this is were I have questions I didn't feel like pulling the pump and I'm not sure I did the right thing but I just put a bead around the very small area that the water was weeping on the pump I also put a bead around the inside of the bailer tubes were they come out inside the hull. Next I put back the bailer tubes to the stock positioning I had shortened the tubes to just come out straight to the bailers not knowing that they needed the L fittings that hold them up under the grab bar area stupid I know but after reading that they needed to be stock like this I made it right could having the bailers like this actually dump water in the hull along with they other leaking issues? Here is a pick of how I had them you can see the blue tubes going out straight to the bailers

Having the bailers low like that they could back feed. If you look at the elbows they have a small pin hole in the side to help with the vacuum effect.

Yep that's what I read thanks for the clarification. Would you have pulled the pump and re rv'ed it? I'm really second guessing my easy fix of beading rv around the leaking area of the pump.

Short cuts are not worth the headaches, sorry.

I strive to get just the right amount

Ok thanks Racer not what I wanted to hear lol! I'll pull it and do it right. I did have a good amount on and it did squish out but not like your pics. I did have issues trying to get the drive shaft to fit the pto so Mabey jollsling the pump around so much moved the rv out of position.

I always dry fit the pump first to make sure the splines are aligned then it's just the matter or a wiggle to get it on the ski. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I just don't want any problems during the season. Heck, I'm already over a year on my 95 resto just because I want it to be perfect. I haven't even got the boat out of the barn and my skis are still up in the air on my rack. One of these days, hopefully tomorrow I'll get them on the trailer.

Yep I hear you, for me it seems like I always have issues with these pumps weather it be rebuilding or install something always seems to go wrong, the motor work is fairly simple and straightforward but seadoo pumps hate me! I totally agree with you on taking your time on a resto/rebuild, it seems like anytime I'm pressed for time and take a shortcut I end up paying for it down the road. That 95 will be a bad unit when your done I love those my buddy's dad has a 95 800 that he's giving him for a wedding present next month my buddy has no clue he's getting it and his dad wants me to go through it for him should be fun can't wait to dig into it the motor is brand new but it still has grey fuel lines so I will prob rebuild the carbs, replace lines ect... And get a new graphic kit from mike. I only had the boat out twice this season so far, anytime I get a chance to go out it's usually raining so don't feel bad about not getting the toys out we have plenty of summer left!

Good catch on that photo! +2 that the tubing for the bailers needs to be corrected with the correct elbow fittings and raised to to the correct position.
