I ordered the impeller tool, should be here tomorrow or friday. I am going to download the manual- saw a couple of posts about putting the ring in the freezer, is there anything else I should make note of? Are there any rings, gaskets etc I should change at the same time? It is a 04 Seadoo GTX 4 Tec w/supercharger. Thanks! If I get this right, maybe I'll go for learning the backing up the trailer thing! Or...maybe not.

Take the old grease outa the cone and replace with marine grade...to the brim....check your nose cone...that's about it. Be carefull pulling the pump...sometimes the alignment of your socket can harm one of the four bolts. I bent a bolt one time...didn't know it till i went to put everything back together...stripped the bolt...then broke it...then had to trace down a new set.....D'OH!
;)

aside...you have had that sc rebuilt by now...right?

No, on the supercharger. Haven't had any problems...is this a routine thing? It ran like a champ until it ate rocks. How will I know it is time?
Got the grease and will make note of the alignment.
Thanks

After I tackle the wear ring, I am attempt the other....maybe set up cones in the backyard to practice....now wouldn't that give the neighbors some entertainment?

Please include a video!!!! Who knows, it could win you some money on one of those "shows". Good luck with your practicing... or just find a SO to do it for you!!!!

You might be lucky with the '04...sc clutch washers may be metal.

Gonna have to do a search on this...it's very important. If your ski does not have metal washers...and it had ceramics in there...don't run it again. You're on borrowed time. they explode without warning and contaminate your oiling system....bad things happen....more later.

Wow....don't want to risk that....I went through the owners manual and it didn't even mention having the supercharger rebuilt or what the washers were made of. You think something that important would be listed with the maintenance schedule. Guess I have some research to do. This stinks, was really hoping to get the ring changed and be able to hit the lake a couple more times before summer was over.

SuzyJack,

I sent you a pm.

from 2004-2007...ceramics were used in our sc's. BRP never admitted the f-up. They instead changed the sc and shaft in '08.

Get your sc/shaft rebuilt and upgraded to the '08 specs.
