I have a new 2012 150 speedster 260hp and the manual says the first oil change should be done at 25 hours. It used to be 10 hours. Are we ok waiting until 25 hours ?
What is everyone with the new machines doing ? Are you waiting for 25 hours or still changing at 10 ?
Are you doing it yourself or taking to dealer to have done ?

Thanks

Well I was told by the dealer, so take that for what it's worth, they use a break-in oil for the first 10 hrs.

The owners manual states 25hrs specifically. Maybe the dealer wants to make more money @ 10hrs ?
Either way, I might do a change before then, I'm @ 9hrs so far.

My dealer also told me he doesn't care what brp says he still recommends 10 hr oil change... He said he thinks brp tries to make their maintanence sound more appealing to the less "hands on crowd"... For instance their new 200 hour supercharger rebuild recommendation....still the same set up but brp claims its good for 200 yet people still change at 100..

That's exactly what I was thinking. While you may get away with less maintenance on the non supercharged models I wouldn't risk it either way. You're investing a good chunk of change on a new pwc, might as well take care of it so it lasts you.

Yep. Says so right in the owners manual. Sounds like these dealers have made up these conspiracy theories ?

seadoo also says to rebuild at 200 hours yet people are still dropping washers into their motor at 125 hours and seadoo isnt held responsible for that...

id rather trust someone whos taken care of me in the past then trust something printed up by a non liable manufacture.. to each their own i guess
