Fire Extinguisher Holder

Where is the fire extinguisher holder on the 97 & 99 XP? I've tried locating it but can't find a place that looks to be made to hold the extinguisher.

Edit: Neither of mine have those. If I were to buy some on ebay, where do they go in the ski?

Yes. But I don't think it is the original place. Also I am wondering is a fire extinguisher required for a jet ski?

I edited my above post. I believe MI requires fire extinguishers aboard all vessels with permanent motors.

It's under the front hood on the white storage tray that covers the engine. If you can't find where it goes I'd say you are missing the whole storage tray.

I am definitely missing the storage tray. I was curious about the lack of storage in these skis... That would explain it.

That's alright. I'm definitely going to have to find a couple of those. They're about $60 a piece from what I've seen so far.

Yeah I personally wouldn't run my 00 without it as the hood seal is on the tray and i doubt it would seal out water without it. With these things being so nose heavy I'm sure you are drenching your engine and intake with water.

PA and OH require a fire extinguisher. The GTS had it stored under the front hood in the purple bin.

On the 1997+ XP's without the tray your hood will not seal. There will be about a 1/8" gap between the hood and hull.
