finicky start

just bought 2 '06 gti/se's. physically clean, run great, one has very erratic starting problem. chirps and you can hear a click under the cover but won't crank. after replacing the "key" many times it will crank, then it runs great.

also, same unit, intermittant display.

original owner "never had trouble"....
are the 2 related?

any suggestions?

I suspect the DESS post, and batteries cells. I suggest you LOAD test it at an auto

Make sure your ground is clean and tight. I had the same problem and it was a loose ground by the motor

The key has a magnetically embedded code the mpem reads. The post is only a
tranfer devise, and does not do anything but transfer the three signals. Just to say
that, so ya know! Bills86e
