I finally got the new Full Bore engine back in the ski and running. Had her out for the first time today. She ran pretty well but just off idle to about 1/2 throttle seems to be running rich (motorboating). I had the carbs adjusted as follows High speed 0 on mag, 1/4 turn open on PTO. Low speed 1 and 1/4 open. I reduced the LS to 1 turn and seemed to improve a bit but not completely. Runs good from 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Haven't tried WOT as just breaking in the new engine.

Running 2 oz per gallon premix with the oil injection, as per Full Bore recommendations. Have a few of questions for the gurus:
Should I just burn through the premix tank before doing any additional tweaking to the carbs?
Is it normal for them to run this way with the extra oil in the gas?
I removed aftermarket (R&D) flame arrestors and went back to the stock airbox, should I increase the pop off pressure because of this or just try closing the LS screws a bit more?

Thanks

J

You need to rejet to stock specs if you went back to the stock air filter.
The added premix won’t change how it runs. Also the low speed screw only changes the idle mixture. Stumbling where you have it off idle is typically the 3 small holes in the carb body being dirty.

Sorry, should have mentioned the stock jets are there 142.5 on the high, 70 on the pilot. I'll check those holes and clean them again
