Took the new ski out last nite for the first ride. Ran great. Just wondering about the speed. Ski revved up to about 7500rpm and top speed was about 62-63mph on the dash. I thought it should rev to 8000rpm and be a little bit faster. Should I be worried? Lake was very calm... did 60mph with two people and a full tank of gas. oh yeah... 57 hours on ski... Not sure about supercharger having metal washers... the original owner thinks he had it done at one time but the sea doo dealer he had it done at is now closed... so can't get records...

You are crazy to ride that ski without KNOWING the status of the supercharger. If you can't find out, rebuild it. To do otherwise is to run the risk of turning that ski into a "part out."

I'm not crazy... It's not gonna "BLOW UP". It has 57 hours on it now and I plan on making sure it has the metal washers today. The original owner had dealer do all the required maintenance so I am pretty sure it has been done but dealer is out of business so can't check. Will do a visual inspection of metal washers and then probably just rebuild after this season.

Did a crystal ball tell you that?

If you've read this forum and another one just like it you will see that some of these superchargers have failed at 20hrs! And it's not just the washers that fail. The bearing cages fall apart. Do what you want, obviously. But you're taking a chance that history shows to be an unreasonable one.

I haven't truly tested it yet. The only time I've had it out was in some ocean chop and fresh off a SC rebuild so I took it easy. Kicked ass, though. Left my 2006 Wake 155 in the dust.
