Fast Idle on 96 GSX

Thanks again! Now I just need to figure out what size the nut is on the cable. I don't have a short box end to get in there and I just can't seem to get anything to fit.
 
They are both 10mm.

It is so much easier if you remove the 6 Alan head bolts and remove the big plastic air cleaner.
 
I stared at that and wasn't sure if it was just the 6 alan head bolts or not. That's a done deal. I'll go that route for sure!!!
 
Just wanted to report back to close this case...the tightening of the throttle cable did the trick. It's idling now at around 1,550 in the water now which is so MUCH better. Thanks to all for the help - mikidymac!
 
I would still lower it a bit more. Should be 1400rpm. I like to run mine just above the rattle 1200rpm (makes for slower docking).

1500rpm or more could risk runaway from the engine when on trailer (pulling the key won't kill it)
