I just bought an 03 GTX SC with a bad engine. I have acquired a replacement 07 block that I will use with my 03 head. What issues should I plan to encounter to make this a seamless rebuild and install?
I know there's some differences between the earlier 4tecs and newer ones. Something with the oiling system, not sure if the heads are compatible actually. Sorry I can't give you a better answer but I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in.

I don't know. Maybe check by Chinese blueprint. Place both heads side by side. Use thick clear plastic sheet to trace over old, then place over the other head and block. This may get you close enough to rule out the obvious. Hopefully, someone will know and chime in. Wait a couple of weeks for more replies. I wish I could be more help.
Got the block today, and will check every drilling for deviation. Noticed one issue however, bearing journals not lined up on one main, thinking about a line bore first then oversize the pistons. Anything I find I will post.
