Engine mount change, alignment or not

Hi, i need some help, i'm from Portugal and have a Seadoo Gs 717 Engine, last year i fully rebuild the engine, new OEM crank, OEM gasket's, Oem Mikuni carb KIT, Prox Piston, i have noticed that the rear left engine mount, has a little movment between the base (metal) and the rubber, so order new OEM mount.
Now the question is, do i have to align the engine??
Dealer mechanic says they change mounts and dont align the engine.
Also plan on changing the other rear right mount.

I think once i have oem mounts, never changed, puting new mounts brings the engine to the factory alignment? I'm i right?

Did you ever align the engine when you rebuilt it?

You really should align the engine whenever you move any mounts.

I'd recommend alignment even if you don't move the mounts but loosen the engine to where it can shift. There is a lot of play in the mounting holes.

I didn't align, picked the mount today on the dealer, talk with the mechanic he say's i don't need to align, just keep the same shim's will put it on the factory align, wich makes some sense, even the shaft slipnes are made for some woble

That "mechanic" is an idiot. The alignment on a seadoo is critical and the splines will not allow for "some wobble" You will eat the splines on the driveshaft, PTO and impeller.

Yes i get it, but look at the shaft please... see the splines!
And i dont know where i can get an alignment tool here in Portugal, i think no one here can rent, and a new one is expensive.

I see them and trust me the mechanic is wrong!
Those splines will tear themselves up if not aligned, they do not allow "room to wobble".

You are free to do as you choose but I am telling you the correct way of what you need to do.

The correct way is to confirm and adjust alignment as necessary, anything else is a gamble and likely to cause reduced life and performance of driveline components.

This is true for all inboard boats.
