Engine Compartment Condensation ('97 Challenger)

With my drain plug pulled and the nose of the boat raised I still have about an inch and a half of water standing in both stringer pockets. This is causing quite a bit of condensation on the engine compartment.

Is this common? Just seems to make a moldy mess of everything, not to mention corrosion concerns for the engine. Seems odd that the plugs are so high that so much water is left behind in the boat?

Any of you have the same problem? If so, is there a way to correct, or should I plan on siphoning this out every time?

I have the same problem with condensation. I don't have water in the bottom tho. I spray my motor with a very light coat of WD-40 to keep things from rusting and the wires dry.

I pop the storage open and let the engine bay sit for an hour or two to let the condensation dry up.

I was told its not a bad habit to have with a seadoo....

99 Speedster SK has similiar hull

And yes the water does hang up in those stringers. Just shop vac it out and leave the engine compartment open or vented for a day or 2.

Thanks for the replies. Seems odd that the drain plugs would be positioned to keep water pooled in the stringers like that. Wish they were about an inch lower.

But, I have actually been using a shop vac as well when I don't plan to use it for a while.
