Ok guys with all the billet goodie threads going around I figured this might be a good time to get these out there and see what the interest would be. This is for the guys who want the trick parts on their bars but want to retain their stock pad and not switch over to a UMI or R&D steering set up. The one in the pic is just a sample I had made. I had MANY different types of aftermarket finger throttle to compare with. Well, not one of them is exactly the same. So with that said I was trying to make a "universal" set of end caps. What that means is, you need to notch for the cables and wires. Each guy can custom tailor the angle of the trigger and switches to their own ergonomics. Read this way--I don't want to make 10 different parts so don't ask. These will be made with the hole for the handle bar only, you will be responsible for the rest. Now you ask how the heck am I going to modify the aluminum, well...... they're not aluminum, I made them from Delrin which is a pretty tough plastic but can be modded with a dremel. They only come in black and I would like them to go in pairs, you would be responsible for finding the billet goodies to go with them. There are NO SCREWS to mount them, they are held on by the throttle or the billet VTS housing. Let me know what you guys think. The CNC is programmed, the fixtures are made, I just need to know quantities before I would even turn the CNC loose. Before we ask price, I have to recheck that, but I know if I can get 25 of each side I can wiggle the price down from where it originally was. Keep this in mind---this is not my full time job, I do this crap for fun, my father in law who will be making the parts, does do this(machine shop) for a living, so he needs to eat. So, what do you all think, cool or bust?
You can see the vintage billet one next to mine. I do have the other side but the ones I had made for "test" I shipped out and I can't seem to find the pic, I have to keep digging. I had to reverse engineer it from the aluminum one, I spent some good time measuring that and drawing it up in CAD.
