elbow fitting on bottom of crankcase... what is this for?

Good morning,

I had my engine completely rebuilt and I have reinstalled the engine. It starts but I have been unable to connect a small black line that connects to a brass fitting that is straight in from the motor mount on the bottom of the crankcase. I'm uploading a picture so I can find out what it is. It seems almost impossible to get this on once the motor is in the chassis. Any advice no how to get to this and get it back on??? The fitting has the letter A stamped into it.

Is this DI ski? It looks like an oil injection fitting for the air pump possibly?
