Hi, i removed the jetpump to install a new wear ring, i noticed in the drawing on the manual, it shows bumpers on both ends of the driveshaft, but when i dissassembled it, there were no bumpers. should i get some? also between the floating collar and the carbon seal, is there some o-rings or spacer? the drawing again shows something but there was nothing when i took it apart???

yes you need the bumpers, check inside the pump housing and inside the pto flywheel where you pulled the driveshaft from, the bumpers may have got stuck in there. they have a little nipple on them that goes into the hole in the ends of the driveshaft. you need to use a little screwdriver or something to allow the air to escape from the driveshaft to allow the bumper nipple to pop in (you'll see what I mean when you try to put them in and they wont stay in).

for the o-ring, there is a slot in the drive shaf tthat should have an o-ring, or it has been superceded by a c-clip. when the drive shaft is still in the ski, you have to pull back on the Stainless steel ring to expose the o-ring/c-clip. There are also 2 o-rings inside the stainless ring, put synthetic grease on those before you put it back on the driveshaft.

thanks big jake, i guess i need to find a place to buy them, i see sbt has the bumpers but the two 0-rings indside the stainless ring, i guess i have to buy a complete kit to get those to rings? or would you know what size they are?

if you were running the ski I wouldt think that the o-rings inside the SS ring have to be there. I've never replaced those so don't know about size. I just ordered new bumpers and c-clips from ParkerYamaha.com

SeaDoo Drive Shaft Bumper Plug #272000019 272-000-019 $2.55
SeaDoo Driveshaft C' Clip #272000135 272-000-135 $2.99

ok, i see the o-rings are there but no bumpers at all, also on the sbt site they show a "through the hull fitting" which i didn't have one when i took mine apart? thanks again jake

without looking at the diagram, I think that is referring to the part that should have remained in the hull that the carbon ring boot clamps to at the very rear. If you didn't have that you would have filled with water.

ok, i think i got it now, so i just need a set of bumpers, i got a spare neoprene seal as the wear ring from sbt came with one, nice of them to tell me that, so i got an extra if anyone's in need....
