I was out on the lake and got stuck on my 96 challenger. I think I ran something over and heard a pretty loud thud felt like it came from exactly under the boat by the entrance of the pump, but I didn't see anything in the water. Although the water was filled with crap from the rainfall and the river. The engine kept cutting off and I noticed there was no water running out of the back of the boat through the tiny hole thats pictured so I got towed in. I inspected the tiny tube which was filled with some dirt/mud. So I cleaned it out plugged a hose into the intake and started the boat at home. There appeared to be no issues.... But before I started the boat I inspected the jet. I took a pic as far as I could remember there used to be a black rubber ring which seems to be missing now. Is this ok should I be worried for more issues to come? What could I do to prevent possible troubles I see rust. I haven't been out on the water since. I recently rebuilt the carbs changed the pump oil, fuel filter, oil filter, rave valves, wear ring looks good so there should be no issues with those listed. Any ideas? or am i just paranoid?
