Disabling DESS?

I have the CANDOO pro, is it possible to disable the DESS security on my Sea-Doo boat? I don’t like it and think it causes trouble. I see in the software that I can disable it, but curious what happens then.... will the key still need to be put on post to start or no key and just start it?

I ran my 2007 Speedster without the DESS enabled for awhile. It just means any key will start your boat. And yes it must be on the post for the reed switch to activate.

Does that mean a magnet can close the reed switch?

Yes, so you don't exactly need a key to start a boat just a magnet.
