Are there any good options for a depth guage on SeaDoo's which didn't come with factory OEM depth sounder installed? The OEM depth sounders appear to run ~$300 or so for my RXT, which seems mighty pricey for a simple depth sounder... are there any good aftermarket alternatives that work well and are more affordable?
Also I believe I've read that the OEM depth sounder doesn't read well at anything above very low speeds... my jetboat's depth sounder works well up to ~40mph then it starts to have problems reading the depth, but that's ok IMHO as I primarly want to know the depth when approaching beach areas so that I don't get into water so shallow that I start to suck up sand/gravel off the bottom. Also it sucks to kill the engine while still too far out and step off into deep water unable to stand, then either have to swim the craft up closer to shore and shallow water or get back on and start it again to reach shallower water. Arghhhhhh!
