Ok, I tried searching and have not found a exact answer for my question. So here goes... Will the transducer work being mounted on the transom at the lowest point possible being mounted about 5 inches port side of the jet drive? I just read the directions and it said that it would work. I should have kept reading cause after I had already mounted it I realized I could have glued it to the bottom of the inside of the hull. Too late now LOL.

Well there are 2 different types of transducers. Through Hull which is usually mounted in the Bilge area and Transom mounted. Most transom transducers will not work if mounted inside the hull. If its a transom mounted transducer so will be fine and it should work properly

They claimed it work with either mounting I figured it would be best on the transom. I just worry about to much "air" between it and the bottom of the water.

Has anyone else mounted one on the transom of there challenger?

On a jet boat it will wok fine in that location. Try it and see what happens... it's already mounted.

Well it works. I know it has been awhile since I have been on here. I actually had to rebuild the engine over the winter. So now I am up and running again. So far so good.
