Hello Everyone,
I bought this 98 Speedster 1600 on Tuesday, now I knew full well it had a problem but I thought the price was good enough so I bought it and planned to fix it (boy do I wish I would have ran away from this one) While the boat looks fantastic, it pass a compression test (150psi on all cyl, both motors) but no spark to either engine. Well after research I knew something was up with this DESS KEY. I did get the motors to fire up and run for appox 2 minutes after I swapped in a new battery, then they died and nothing. I took it to the dealer on Wednesday, and they just called me today with the HORRIBLE NEWS, They said the MPEM has lost all of its INTERNAL MEMORY and a new MPEM is in order at the tune of 1,630.35 :banghead: Plus the labor to program it to the key or whatever. So all told they say it will be in the neighborhood of 1800.00 bones. Is there a cheaper way or do I part this sucker out or what? Thank you in advance, Shawn
