Hello my name is Matt and I am new to the forum.
I haven't owned a jet boat in about 15 years my last being a mid 90s twin engine seadoo.
I found a deal, so I thought, on a 2005 Sea doo sportster le di model. I researched all the ups and downs previously mentioned in this forum. I performed a compression test as well as hooked a computer to it. There are no codes and the boat currently has 66 hours 140/145 on the compression. I guess we can call that the good.
The not so good... Boat was left in sun uncovered and needs the entire gel coat brought back as well as seats redone along with various plastic fade etc. There are some deeper gauges in the bottom of the hull that will need to be fiber glassed and gel coated...
It's missing the ski floor cover and hardware, the cooler cover and hinges are broke, cup holders are not there, gauges are fogged although seem to work, non of the switches for the fan, bilge or lights work or do the devices.
Needless to say the boat needs to be restored and I am mechanically inclined and can do body work.
Do you guys think at $2000 it's a deal as I am meticulous and would get the boat looking like a 66 hour boat...
