I’ve been trying to hunt down parts for my rebuild, which is surprisingly difficult to find good used parts, or even reviews on new manufactured parts. I have lucked up though, there is a used crank for sale just an hour north of me so I believe I will be going to check it out. Now my dilemma, how do I know if this crank is worth anything? What are the specs and tolerances I should be checking for on it? I assume no bearing play, any way to ensure it is true and not out of balance?

Don’t waste your money on a used crank. 99% of the time the inner seals at minimum will be bad and can’t be replaced.

What ski are you working on.

The best crank you can buy is OEM. Pro Caliber has them for $351 with free shipping.

Oh dang, that is by far the cheapest I’ve seen a new crank priced, and not much more expensive than the used crank.
