I will be rebuilding our 2001- 951 carb engine in the next few months. My plan is to send out the cylinders to be rebored with matching pistons. The remaining steps of the rebuild I wish to tackle on my own.
Looking at options for ready made drop-in crankshaft assemblies. I dont think BRP has new OEM replacements, so what opinions do the experienced members here think is the next best way(s) to go?
A new WSM crank? Send out my original for rebuild?
I'm uncertain of the engine hours but I'm thinking the engine has about 400 to 500 hours on it now. Still runs great but rather rebuild now, rather than roll the dice and possibly bust an engine case.

Yes, you can order an OEM reman crank. That's all I use. You can order from pro-caliber. There is a $200 core charge that you'll get back when they receive your crank. @mikidymac can confirm

Yes Pro Caliber, free shipping on orders over $99.

Ok. So, now the next question is the counterbalance shaft assembly. Assuming I'm not getting my original shaft returned, will the gear meshing be affected? Or should that be sent out also for rebuilding?
