I think that I have found the problem.....and why it won't go past 3k on the rpm...start great, idels fine......but look at my problem now? what do I need to do and how major is this? look at the attached pics.

Please any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this problem and a good place to shop and maybe some information on the fix

Thanks,
Tim96

OK… that’s not the head… that’s the cylinder. That crack is because it was not winterized properly, and the water froze in it. If it starts, and idles… that’s not the problem. In reality… that crack is superficial. Have it welded up, and it will be good to go.

You probably have an issue with the neutral safety switch.

Is it dieing at 3000 rpm… or is it just not reving any higher??

Here is what is happening.....

When I throttle up the boat moves and sounds good until 3000, then it starts coughing and it feels like it wants to go but it struggles at 3k it does start to smoke and cough real bad if throttled all the way, almost like it is flooding out.
The boat has never died on me while operating it!

About the crack how important is it to get it fixed can it be operated for the rest of this year and fixed in the off season?

Thanks for your responce
Tim

P.S.

I have cleaned the rave valves, cleaned the fuel filter and changed the plugs
