I am rebuilding a 787 and found that there is no screw out cap and hex head plug on the balance shaft. How exactly am I supposed to fill the cases with oil? I have rebuilt 4 787's to date and have never seen a set of cases without the filler and drain plugs for the counterbalance shaft in them. They came from a 96, is that the difference? is it something seadoo added later? I am at a stand still on the re-build until I figure out how to fill it.

Thanks guys, I found my own answer after a couple more hours of searching. There is a tiny hole in the top half of the crankcase that is only accesable with the cylinders off. This hole acts as a fill hole and a vent hole for the COG gear chamber. Simple enough but not in the shop manual. This only applies to 787's before 1997. After that they started putting in fill caps and drain plugs that were easier to access.

Sorry you had to find your own answer... but I'm glad you posted back with the answer.

Thanks.
