I don't there is is a way timing could be off since the rotary valve has teeth. I removed the carbs and oil pump did not mess with the rotary valve at all but I did spin the engine.

Could this throw off timing orcould anything else throw off timing.

Do I need to check timing? . After 2 sets of carbs 2 rebuild kits still not running right.im running out of things to check

I bypassed all fuel line and tank by running a fuel line directly into a good clean gas source so it's not the fuel system

Are you asking about rotary valve timing or ignition timing?

Unless you messed with the stator or switched a mag flywheel the ignition timing should be OK.

If you did not pull the rotary valve off of the shaft then the valve timing is not changed BY YOU. HOWEVER it is possible for the rv timing to shift if the brass gear inside has damaged teeth, but once it starts coming apart it usually fails pretty fast. Or it is possible someone messed with it in the past, if this is true you need to retime the rv to be sure it is set.

Did you use all original Mikuni parts in the carb rebuilds? That means 100% of everything is oem Mikuni. Remember, just because you saw an add that says "Mizuno rebuild kit" doesn't mean you were getting Mikuni parts. Ebay is famous for this trick and they sell mostly junk rebuild kits on that site.

Also, look at the carb rebuild thread at the top of the two stroke section. Study it, learn it, follow it.
