Could be a dumb question

Yes but it really isn't worth the trouble and if you like the ski you would be better off finding a GSX that has the 787.

You could add a pipe if you could find one but you have to get the tuning correct and will sacrifice reliability and fuel consumption.

Well said.

I have seen tooooo many people buy sleds over the years and dump tons of money into them to make them faster, more powerful, more than the engineers designed them to be. In the end all they did was end up with an expensive, tempermental, unreliable machines that go to the parts pile sooner than later.

I always tell them to just buy a bigger motor that is designed to be reliable as an intake, carb, motor and exhaust package.

Like Mac said, get a GSX.

The only reliable mod machine I ever saw was the 89 that a coworker at the sea-doo shop had. He spent A LOT of time into dialing it in. For a stock 580 yellow motor with a mod intake, carb, pipe and water box it was untouchable by any stock Doo until the first 797 xp came out. It only needed motor work because the piston to cylinder wall clearance went out if spec from being run so much.

That makes

that makes sense. I was just reaching. I am looking for another one so I’ll just look in that direction. I hear the 717 Gs is awesome and reliable. So we’ll see

So I took my ski out for the first time in a year since I’ve replaced almost everything in the ski, and it was HAULIN ass. I mean from what I was reading I was expecting a GS to be slow. But I swear to God I felt like I was going like 55. It could be that everything on the water feels fast or what not, but fuck it it was fast to me. Thanks everyone for your help. Ride safe
