Cooling line???

I am replacing fuel and oil lines and rebuilding carbs. There is a black arrow pointing to the line in the cooling system that I am talking about. Is there a way to check if this hose is clogged?? I can access it at the rear where it connects to the exhaust but tracing the line under the engine I can't get to it. Do I need to worry about it or is there any other way to check it while connected? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know how to access this line on the back side. I can get to it where it connects to the exhaust. I think i need to replace it because it seems to be solid.
 
I wouldn't worry about it unless you have reason to believe it is an issue. Looks like It is the line that comes from the two engine cylinders. You could pinch off the line from the mag end of the head to the exhaust pipe and pinch of the return line from the head..... (right side PTO end of the ski looking from behind). Then you can apply a slight air pressure (10 pounds maybe) to the line on the left side rear of the head going into the engine. I think you would hear are comiing out of the exhause end of the ski if you did that. Might work. LOL I've never tried it. Good Luck !!

I took the line off at the exhaust and it is completely full of sand as far as i can see. Do i need to worry about that??
 
Yes. You need to get the sand out. That line drains the water from the cylinders.

How do i gain access to the back side of the cylinder where it is T'd. Do i have to take the exhaust out?? I got alot of sand out but it feels solid all the way under where i can't reach. Also do i need to worry about checking anything else before i try to start it???
 
I would try flushing on the hose since it back flushes the system and use something like a coat hanger up the blockage before pulling the exhaust.

Remember you can never have the hose on with the engine off. It’s always... engine on then hose on then hose off, last engine off.

I replaced fuel lines, fuel selector, cleaned gas and oil tank. It starts and sounds good. I have a strong stream of water out of the Cooling System Indicator(5 to 6 feet) while hooked to a garden hose. I tried to use a coat hanger like suggested but it is too clogged up. Any suggestion or help with this. I don't want to do any damage. I have not take it to the water yet.
 
I used low PSI compressed air to blow out the lines on my Di. One hose was completely clogged. Had I not checked, it could have ended badly.

I can't get access to where the line connects in the back unless I take the pipe off. I didn't know if there is a way to block off another line to create more pressure on the blocked line to flush it out. If not is it hard to take the pipe off and put it back on??????

I think that is a good way to go. Stating the obvious, you must blow the pressure from the engine to the back of the ski. Looking at your diagram, the hose you are concerned about is right at the end of the exhaust. I cant tell from the diagram, but if that is as it appears the dirt may blow out the exhaust when it is started or you can use a shop vac to get it out.
 
If it’s that packed and clogged you are going to have to pull the pipe. Don’t run it that way thinking it’s going to fix itself. You are only going to be out a headpipe gasket.

This is all new to me. What do I need to do to get to it?? Is it just removing the lower piece?? Where do i take it apart at?? There is a big metal ring in the middle or 4 bolts up top and on the other end is a rubber boot between it and the muffler.
 
You need to loosen the big banc clamp then remove the 3 Alan bolts and 1 nut connecting the mid-pipe to the manifold and the 1 bolt connecting it to the support bracket then pull it out. Next there are two small Alan bolts holding the lower pipe to the block and you should be able to slide it forward enough to get to the blocked cooling hose.

The only thing you will need is some blue loctite, Permatex Ultra Copper RTV and the Mid-pipe to manifold gasket. The gasket goes on dry, all bolts get the Loctite and the Copper RTV goes on the copper ring between the two pipe halves.

How do I break the seal of the RTV gasket without damaging anything????
 
Gently hit it with a rubber mallet and wiggle it around, should come off pretty easy
