I have had engine kill / low voltage problems so reading on this forum learned that it is probably a common voltage regulator/rectifier issue.

funy thing, when I tested the old one I was actually seeing 14V when running, but determined it must be an intermittent issue. why else would it die and say "low battery voltage"

So I just bought a new regulator (aftermaket, no one seems to have oem in stock) and replaced.
starting the engine I see no voltage increase above the battery 12.2 volts when revving . swapped back the old one and the same thing....... :(
checke yellow wires (stator) and see 30VAC+ when revving on all three combos.

what the heck is going on.. In michgan our summers a too dang short.... I need help to salvave the summer

thanks in advacne

By the way. I checked voltage output of the disconnected rectifier red and then saw no voltage at the rectifier when running. could both be bad...... arrrrrrrg

Found the problem(s)
1 inwas checking rectifier withou grounding its housing. One i mounted it vack to the ground playe all was good with that.
Viltage jumped from 12.1 to 13.02 then slowly 13.03 etc.
concluded the battery was just weak and pulling ng the system down. Replaced with my good snowmobile battery and running viltage came up to 14v
Test run today to confirm. But should be good to go.
