I have a 98 Sportster 1800 and I've done a lot of reading on here about anything below 135 needs a rebuild. my numbers are 125 on one cylinder and 130 on all the others.

Guess my question is how long could i wait before i need to rebuild it. Right now it runs great. Hard start when cold but other then that runs good. On GPS max spend is 40mph. so from what i read it seems the motors are getting week.

I'm hoping i can wait a couple more summers before i have to rebuild it..

Any thoughts would be great.

Matt The higher the better on compression, but even more important is being uniform Or at least close to the same on all cylinders. Five pounds difference is well with in reason. Also very few compression guages read the same. I have two depend on wich I pick to use they vary about 10 lbs. Unless performance has droped considerably I would worry about it.
