Check engine light after oil filter change

I got a yellow engine light after a simple oil filter change on a spark trixx 2024 , is this normal? Will it clear itself or does the dealer need to clear the code?


I double checked the filter is installed properly, the O ring is sealed, no oil is leaking out the cap, so no idea why the engine light would come on after an oil filter change?

Check engine light would not appear after a routine oil change. We would only be playing a guessing game trying to determine what the code is without a reader. My recommendation- make sure you have enough oil. Go to a boat ramp. Start the machine. Let it warm up. See if CEL disappears and check oil level at that point as well.

I took it out on the lake this afternoon and after about 2 mins the engine light turned off. I think it was a temporary issue that has resolved itself.
