Cheap seat recover 95 XP

I tried for 10 minutes to write some text on my original post, couldn’t figure it out, lol. Anyways I’ve used flat vinyl from diyseatskins.com before with good results thought i would try and save a little more and ordered enough yellow vinyl to do my 95XP and 95HX for 24.00😀. I will post back once I get the seat done on the XP, who knows if I will ever get the HX done, really don’t like riding that one

Just picked up my vinyl today, I’m at the border crossing now, cut open the packaging, I’m very impressed with the colour of the yellow vinyl. I will compare it to some purple vinyl I had gotten from DIY seatskins.com and post a picture

The yellow is spot on, I’ve seen so many seat recovers with puckers that I’m going to create a seperate thread and document each step of this seat recover with pictures

So I got the seat cover on today, I was going to do a step by step with photos but to be honest I’m not even sure what the steps are. Roughly, I took the old vinyl off with a small screwdriver, let the foam dry for 4 days, used clear silicone ( use either clear or a beige similar to the colour of the foam, not white. Used spray contact cement safe for foam to glue the sides of the foam to the plastic base, lay the vinyl on the table, put the seat on it upside down and even up the vinyl making sure you have enough all the way around, put a couple staples in the back and then pull the vinyl forward and up, going from side to aide making sure you are working evenly, when it comes to going around the curve at the back, all I can say is bunch the material together pulling it and split the difference between the staples right at the back and the first staple at the side. When your stapling, just do every 4 to 6 inches or so, or whatever works but don’t fill it in with staples until the cover is on, in case you have to pull staples you don’t want to have to pull 50 of them. When your stapling every 6 inches or so, keep the staples in closer towards the Center of the seat just in case. When you have the cover all stretched around the plastic base and it looks good, then fill in with staples where they should be. Pull the ones that you put closer to the middle and trim your vinyl with a new utility knife blade. I still need to put the hardware back on the seat and the strap and then I need to order some purple vinyl paint and doo the Seadoo logo on the seat.

Got the Seadoo logo stenciled on, used SEM vinyl paint, I really like that stuff, however I did get some bleed under the stencil.
