i just bought a 95 seadoo speedster and wondered if im charging 1 battery will it also charge the other or do i need to charge both of them separately? any suggestions would be helpful. thank you

ok what should be the usual charge time for each one i think they are 16 or 20 lbs. thank you very much for your help

I am not sure the exact time. I use a charger that charges them then goes to a float mode where it will maintain them. A light comes on when they are charged.

where did you get your hydro turf @ i saw it the other day somewhere online but now i cant remember where. it looks cool on your speedster.

Sears for $30 bucks and that is regular price. I caught in on sale for 19.99 It comes with clamps that you can put on the post and it also has wires that can be left attached and a 12 volt plug to charge through the lighter plug.

On seadoo's though, you can not charge this way. It may back feed into the electrical system and fry the MPEM, power module. The batteries need to be disconnected from the boat.

On my boat, I have a battery switch and 2 batteries. With the switch off, there is no way to backfeed into the boat electrical system, so i wired a 12 volt lighter plug in to both batteries. Now when I want to charge i just plug it in without having to open the engine compartment. It also gives me a nice 12 volt plug in the back of the boat for blowing up tubes and stuff.

hydroturf.com or you can click the pwcmuscle.com link on here above the thread, they sell it. By far it is the best mod i have done.

i want to keep them charged so they will last longer. batteries arent cheap and on my jetskis i let 1 drain down since my charger i have quit working and i didnt know it now i have 2 buy another charger and a battery for my jetski. i dont want to let the same thing happen to my boat. to bad they dont use bigger deep cycle batteries. maybe in the future ill switch it over to the gel cell's instead (but that wont be for awhile)

Battery Tender brand

Get yourself a Battery Tender (not a Junior) on eBay. They are made for small batteries and do a terrific job, I used one on my 95 Speedster for 10 years.
Of course for 2 batteries you need 2 Tenders or else rotate them which is fine.

All motorcycle people know about Battery Tenders.

You will still need to get a new set of batteries every 3 years or so from Sears. or else do the one-battery conversion.

Maybe its just how often I use my boats/jetskis but I never have to charge them, my speedster uses a full size battery then I am adding another as well, however the charging system charges the batteries so I guess with how much I use mine is why they never drain, Of course I am putting optima batteries in my boat though as well. If you let it sit alot then yes I would install battery tenders on board, you can also install solar chargers.

You can swap out the 2 little batteries for one bigger real boat battery. Lots of people have done it. Try searching here for the directions.

ok i will hopefully ill be able to find it. id love only having one battery to watch plus then i wont worry as much about using the radio i added out on the water draining the batteries to much 2 start the motors once i want to go back to shore. what cranking amps are used to go just 2 the 1 battery set up? i also went out and bought a battery charger/maintainer 2day so hopefully it was a good investment.
