Change oil in rotary valve?

So the xp I picked up was already converted to premix. Owner was using normal mineral oil and I'm going to switch over to synthetic.

What's the best way to drain the rv? Since the oil doesn't actislly flow through the rv, how often do you guys change it? If the oil pump was still working would it then be flowing oil? I wonder if it's worth picking up a working oil pump?

I pull the exhaust side hose and intake side hose and drain into a pan. Then I take the new oil, pour in the intake side hose, and flush till clean.
Oil pump has no effect on rv chamber.

Ok done! It was pretty simple.

That said, I noticed when the oil tank is half full (cuz I'm premixing) sometimes the low oil light turns on in certain water conditions.

Im curious, how does the oil level float thing work? It doesn't look like the fuel float... How does it know when oil level is low?
