I am new to this. This is the first time trying to clean carburetors. This is a 1997 GTX that has been sitting for many years. The ski ran fine before it sat. The carburetors were done and fuel lines and oil lines replaced before it sat for many years. I removed fuel and oil from the ski. I am cleaning the carburetors and noticed the difference between the 2 carburetors. Carburetor 1 looks good to me but Carburetor 2 has discoloration on the round part. I have no idea if this is ok or what this part is or does. Im trying to get input on if this carburetor is ok to reinstall. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looks rusty and pitted to me, I would replace it. It's called a welch plug but I can't find a part number for a replacement.

It is a Welch plug. Just polish it up and call it a day. Do not try and replace it, it comes from Mikuni installed you can't buy it thru seadoo.

Dremmel tool, scotch brite pad. Get it clean, make sure the carb is clean and you will be good to go. The only way it will effect performance is if it stays dirty and flakes off or builds up rust. Once cleaned it will not make the machine run different.
