Rebuilt 951..... fired it up and now the carb runs away....pulled DESS key to stop. The ski is a 1999/2000 GTX Limited with I believe to be 38SBN. Before the rebuild it ran ok now it does not. Where would I start with this thing?

You either didn’t get the base gaskets on correctly or reused old ones, didn’t adjust the throttle cable correctly or messed with the idle screw. Pretty easy to miss those so double check your work.

I did reuse the old gasket....they looked fairly good but I guess not
Idle screw was backed all they way off with a gap showing

Throttle cable is probably too tight, make sure it is loose and butterflies are closed or it will run away.

my guess is throttle cable not correctly attached or adjusted. tie the ski up, start it up in neutral and push the throttle closed with your fingers- if the rpm drops then there's your answer.

Never reuse carb base gaskets, get new ones before you continue.

Also some of the carb levers where you attach the cable have two holes so make sure you have it in the correct hole and routed around the cam correctly.
