Hi,

I have a 1997 Challenger 1800 that I was supposed to be enjoying this holiday weekend, only to learn that the starboard throttle was stuck.

I found out the MAG carb has a very stiff throttle... needs a wrench to turn it. It's been soaking in ATF and mineral spirits all weekend with little improvement.

I need a new carb. The P/N for the OEM carb is BN40-38-11. I've looked and see a BN40I-38-26 available on several sites, but I don't know what the "I" stands for and am hesitant to order because of it and the last number not matching.

Can someone please explain what it means and if it should be OK to install? 93 degrees and I'm staring at a boat in the garage and can't survive another weekend of that. Please help a brotha out. :)

Thank you.

Honestly I am ignorant of carbs and their workings, and was unaware that a rebuild could free up that throttle butterfly shaft.

That or buy a used 787 carb from any seadoo 787 boat/wave runner, either way you should be completely rebuilding all the carbs, fuel system, jet pumps, etc ,etc and all other maintance that you've been missing.. :)
