Hi I am new to the board. My 1996 speedster seems to run great, but since I am new to the boat I was curious if I could run it on one engine. It just seems to rev up, and move very slowly, I have tried running the left on it own or the right on it own with the same result. Yes I have it in forward. When I turn on the 2nd engine and mach the rpms it takes off, and I have no problem getting to 50 mph. I do think I need to look at the wear rings as I get a little bit of cavitation when coming out of the hole with 4 people on the boat.

Thanks

bad idea...

only time when needed, is if either motor craps out on you,...anyway, why would you, have 2-motors if you wanted a single engine boat, sell the speedster, and getta sportster...,

just wondering if a 1996 speedster should be able to get on plane with just one motor running, or does it need both.

Thanks

I know 2 are better than 1

If you run the single engine at higher speed than 15mph, your gonna flood the non running engine with water because the running exhaust keeps the water out of the engine with it's exhaust pressure. Not running the other engine will cause it too flood and cause damage.
