Can’t find where to reinstall this part-Mercury Sport Jet 120 XR

Hello ,

I’m GD big trouble recalling where this part gets pit back in sync at..I know I took a picture of it prior to pulling it off, but believe the pic was deleted on accident.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like an oil pump.
There should be a matching machined face on the block. It could be at any angle. It should connect (by a small shaft) to a gear on the crankshaft.
