Break in period

I have a 2001 GTI which has just been rebuilt. I have disconnected the oil injection and going to start pre mixing the fuel myself. This is because we think the oil injection is the reason why it lost compression in one of the cylinders. I was going to run a 25/1 ratio for the first tank (break in period)and then go back to a 50/1 ratio. Does this sound about right or should I double up on the oil for a longer period of time. Correct me if I am wrong but the normal gas to oil ratio is 50/1 correct.

yes 50/1 is the common mix for outboards and new stand up skis
you could try a 40/1 ratio, spark plugs are cheaper than top ends!
