2 quick questions...

I just picked up a new '08 Seadoo Challenger and had it out for the first time last Saturday and I'm loving it!!

For the break in period, can I go above 3/4 throttle for brief periods?

Are these boats ok to run in cold water? (8 degree Celsius/ 48 Fahrenheit)?

Any other tips on breaking in would be appreciated!

Thanks

Rob

Rob, the dealer should have informed you on break in. It is also listed in your owners manual too. For the first 10 hours you should vary the rpms for a short time. It is recommended to not exceed 3/4 throttle except for short bursts. It is also recommended to let the engine reach normal operation temp. before you go crazy on the water. The engine has a interloping cooling system and is controlled by the water the boat in. I suggest you start it up after you launch it and head out at a moderate slow speed till the engine reaches a good normal warm temp, say first 10 minutes, so everything is expanding and contracting at the same rate. I find if you run it and let it cool down periodically the engine life last longer, rather than run it like you stole it. Be sure to check all the fluids each time you run it in case it has a leak some where. (Oil, Anti-freeze)
