I just bought that '94 XP that was owned by the same lady I bought the '95 XP 800 from. I asked her how much she wanted and she said $500 and come and get it. That is the same price I gave for the '95. So in end end I have paid $1,000 for both. So in the past 6 weeks I have paid $1,500 for '94 XP, '95 XP 800, '96 XP. Not too bad of a deal in my book. It is just that these X4 hulls are too perfect in my mind to turn down such great deals. I figured the '94 XP would be a great loaner ski to friends and family, and should be really reliable and fuel friendly in the greatest hull of all time.
I checked out the compression and it read 130-135 ish psi in both cylinders, but may be my gauge because both ran the exact same. The gauge was like moving rapidly and not stationary at a certain number. I didn't think the compression was bad b/c both cylinders read the exact same. I put a new battery in and took off the top of the airbox and sprayed starting fluid in it and it fired up, but would cut off soon as the starting fluid ran out. I took some mixed gas and put in the airbox and it would hit and shut straight off. I think it has carb issues. Is that what yall think? I ordered a carb rebuild kit, and then I will go from there. The funny thing is some of the grey fuel lines have been replaced and some have not. It is missing the rubber battery strap and the shock/ vibration thing under the seat that is round.
