On August 13, my Challenger 180 had a faulty hose and going out with my family, we took in a lot of water. The engine was completly underwater and we were able to salvage the boat. It never went under but the engine was covered with water. 4 days later the insurance company told me to take it to a shop to turn the engine over, it did turn over. They told me that there was water inside the oil. They want to rebuild the engine. Will this be OK or what should I do. Please help!!

Don't you have a four stroke??
Rebuild is going to cost $$$$

If it were a two stoke then it be easier and less money.

Sorry for the loss

That is exactly why you pay insurance. A claim against you will effect you the same whether it is a $200 claim or totalled. I would push for a new boat. If it had that much water in it, how bout all the wires and connections that may be corroded and not give you problems till down the road?
